Shift

Build 0.0.2 of Shift, a 3D Quantum Roguelite FPS made by Claymore Studios. Build 0.0.2 is PRE-ALPHA, and contains very little of the final product.

Shift is a "Quantum Roguelite" FPS, in which you go forwards and backwards in levels as much as you want, collecting loot, and then you proceed to the final level whenever you wish. You play a random prisoner in a currently unnamed covert science facility, being used as a test subject for their latest project. Your abilities travel through and manipulate time and space work through the Shift Gauntlet and its accompanying visor, which, when fully charged, you can activate its main power to take you to a place called the Gridwarp, where you can go to another level of your choosing.

Shift is unique in that no other roguelike lets you freely roam back and forth between levels, and each one has very stark differences to the others. Players have to unlock each level through their runs, but once they complete a full run they have the freedom to go wherever, keeping progression at the heart of gameplay, and then opening a sandbox-esque environment after, which allows you to build-craft in ways that usually are not possible. Levels include Old Facility, Void, Lab Of The [REDACTED], Antarctic Abyss, Metatropolis, Thornton Orbital Facility, and New Facility.

As well as enthralling gameplay, Shift has a dark, brutal, and moody sci-fi backstory, with stories of questionably ethical testing, discoveries of things thought impossible by current scientific laws, and more. Shift could be considered similar to SCP, Portal, Half Life and more when it comes to its backstory, but more similar to Risk of Rain 2, Destiny 2, or the Titanfall/Apex Legends franchise in terms of how it plays.
